We felt sorry for the people in the bands and on the floats, but they put on a great show despite the downpour. Some of the floats were being damaged by the rain, but we were close to the start of the five mile route and they were still in great shape.

Donna, Marina and Lenny lasted just over an hour (about half the parade) and then abandoned ship. Saul and Gail were braver than us and stayed on -- no doubt to the end.
