The Great Rose Parade Trip

Saturday, December 31, 2005

We spent the evening walking around Pasadena. At first we thought we were in Old Pasadena, but it didn’t look very old. We mainly saw every chain store known to mankind (Starbucks, Banana Republic, Sephora, etc). Then we eventually found the “old” part, which was a bunch of other chain stores (Urban Outfitter, Gap, Loehmanns, etc.), but now in nicer buildings. The streets were packed with people strolling around, and the occasional street entertainer (a particularly notable be-bop quartet). Seeing the souvenir stores, we finally figured out who is playing in the Rose Bowl itself …. Texas and USC. We had dinner at a Thai/Chinese/Fusion restaurant that was delicious, then headed back to the hotel.
